We found that’s a rare species of butterfly called Diaethria Anna which has number ’88’ on them. Coincidentally number 8 or 88 is a symbol of luck and prosperity in Asia.
And there’s something magical to see these butterflies flying indoors in Changi, dusting the air with “luck” from their wings. Greetings travellers and shoppers with the spectackle of luck in the airport.
